BTW terugvragen op zonnepanelen

Als u als particulier zonnepanelen koopt, kunt u de btw op aanschaf en installatie terugvragen van de Belastingdienst. Bij een standaardpakket van zes zonnepanelen (1440 wattpiek) à 2.900 euro levert dit ruim 400 euro op: zo´n 15 procent van uw investering.

 

Eenvoudig
De belastingregel geldt als reactie op een uitspraak van het Europese Hof van Justitie. Consumenten die na 20 juni 2013 zonnepanelen (hebben) laten installeren kunnen van de nieuwe regels profiteren. Er zijn op internet allerlei bedrijfjes die aanbieden om de teruggave voor 100 tot 150 euro te regelen. Maar het terugvragen van de btw is zo eenvoudig, dat een consument dat goed zelf kan doen. Het is niet moeilijker dan het aanvragen van de subsidie op zonnepanelen, die tot augustus 2013 beschikbaar was.

 

Ontheffing
In theorie moet iedereen die zonnepanelen koopt voortaan btw-aangifte doen, maar in de praktijk hoeven particulieren, die geen administratieve stappen willen zetten, niets te doen. Als de Belastingdienst niets verneemt, krijgt de particulier automatisch ontheffing van btw-aangifte op grond van een regeling voor 'kleine ondernemers'. In de praktijk vallen alle particulieren onder die regeling.

Particulieren die hun btw terug willen vragen, moeten wél administratieve stappen zetten. Ze kunnen daarbij onmiddellijk - zelfs in dezelfde enveloppe - een verzoek te doen om na teruggave verdere ontheffing te krijgen van btw-aangifte. In de toekomst kan de huidige kortingsmogelijkheid verdwijnen, aangezien er op dit moment op Europees niveau wordt gesproken over aanpassing van de regels.

Het rendement van uw aankoop van zonnepanelen wordt door de btw teruggave vergelijkbaar met dat van een spaarrekening met 7 procent rente. Zonder teruggave rendeert uw investering als een spaarrekening met 6 procent rente. Hieronder vindt u een kort stappenplan om de btw op aankoop en installatie van uw zonnepanelen terug te vragen.
